DEEPHOUSE/TECHHOUSE CHART FEBRUARY 2012. It’s getting tougher and tougher to find really good music. Mostly because there is so much junk out there! But we firmly believe the number of good tracks have gone up aswell so it’s just a matter of hard word and painstaking previewing to find them. Here are our picks for february.
If you havn’t discovered german wonder-woman tINI yet then it’s about time you did. She’s one of our absolute favourites at the moment and her latest mix on Artist Alife Transmission is something extraordinary. The grooves in #003 by tINI will make you dance and the deepness will make you feel. If you’re like us, living in a country with about 0,001 % good clubs you’ll be questioning your parents choise of homeland.
Time really flies. It’s been a month already since we posted Hauscast Vol 3. This time we’re back with a little bit longer deephouse mixtape (1,5 hours) which builds nicely from chill deep to more classic house with a touch of old school chords and rythms.
As always, if you want a track-ID for any of the tracks in the set – just drop us a message or comment in the timeline and we’ll get it for you. Enjoy!
Beatport launches an app for Mac OS X. When Beatport so kindly informed us about their new app for OS X we of course downloaded it immediately. The Beatport Pro – as it is called – basically allows you to do the same things that you can do on their website – and then some! We’ve only played around with it for about half an hour or so, and it’s still in beta, but we love it!
The best feature we found so far are the “Hotkeys”. They allow you to browse through the latest tracks in the genre of your choise, but with a huge difference. You can actually assign whatever keys you see fit and change track, skip forward and add to cart while doing something completely different! This whole post was actually written while (mostly skipping) the latest 100 tracks or so in the deep house genre.
We love new music and we rarely listen to the same track more than 4-5 times. That’s probably why we spend many, many hours on Beatport every week. It’s like collecting stamps or whatnot. But sometimes you find a track that sticks out. This one was actually posted on our Facebook wall by our charming US friend Kathryn Oshay, and for that we thank her bunch!
We present to you Black Light Smoke – Lovework; a brilliant, VERY dirty, downtempo disco track.
You know all of our Hauscasts are recorded with Native Instruments Traktor using time-coded vinyls? Boy, aren’t we cool?! Just kidding, we just like vinyl more than CDs or controllers. Anyway — yesterday when we recorded the latest Hauscast episode (which will be online shortly) we decided to go back to our roots and dropped some real wax aswell. Jesus, must have been at least 3 years ago since we did that last!
Unfortunately we started recording a bit late. Just as things were getting heated Jani’s lovely girl (Elodie) wanted to go to sleep. Good thing is that the Xone 42 mixer has two headphone jacks so we could continue. So there we were, dancing our asses off in a silent rave in the comfort of our home.
We’re back with another episode of Hauscast… or actually we posted this on our SoundCloud page about a month ago. If you aren’t already following us over there then we suggest you do so to make sure you aren’t missing out on the future goodies!
If you want a track-ID for any of the tracks in the set – just drop us a message or comment in the timeline and we’ll get it for you.
Well hello again fellow internerders! If you havn’t been following us on SoundCloud you’ve probably missed that Hauscast Vol 2 has been out for quite a while now. Make sure to follow JANI/DANIEL on SoundCloud and you’ll be one of the first to hear the next episode.
Good music speaks for itself. However, if you demand to know the name of a track – feel free to comment in the timeline and we’ll get the name for you. ;)
