Free mp3 download: Sacpek – Trumpet (JANI/DANIEL Remix)

FREE THE MUSIC! OCCUPY BEATPORT! DEEPHOUSE ANARCHY! Well, not really. So don’t grow out your beard or put on your hipster glasses just yet.

We are however teaming up with label extraordinaire, Kitschy Records, to give away our remix of Sacpek – Trumpet for free! Why free, you ask? Well DUH! Obviously it’s a promotional stunt… and because we love you! Unless you’re David Guetta. Get off our site David, you ain’t ripping off our tunes.

Anyway, we thought it might be interesting to write a bit about how we made the remix (if not, then just scroll down and download it. Or don’t. Either way you loose no money in this deal!). When we made this remix for Sacpek we got pretty carried away with the sounds, mostly because of the Deep Freq FX pack we had bought recently for Kore Player (seems the product is discontinued now, HA!). We time-streched, pitched and FX’ed it off this world in the remix. The result is still a pretty heavy but bouncing and atmospheric remix. You can still hear the resemblance to the original but the remix has a totally different feel to it… audio snippets below for comparison.

		now notice the time-streched, pitched and FX’ed version. and yes, the “ominous pads” about 45 seconds into the clip are actually the trumpets aswell…we just added a hell of an effect chain

This is what we most often do when we get a remix job. We fuck up the original audio (not because it’s ‘bad’ necessarily, but for the fun of it!) and try to make something different with the beats and mood. If the original feels happy, we want to make a darker remix. If it’s hard, we want to make it soft. In other words, copy pasting the original audio onto a standard drumloop from the latest sample cd isn’t really what we consider remixing.

VIDEO: Working on Journey remix

Yesterday we where in the studio and started work on another remix for Kitschy Records. The track is called ‘Journey’ by Jesus Pablo and Milkwish. Our remix will take the funkiest parts of the original and bring them down deep. Check out the video below for a small preview!
