On November 13 our remix for Italian duo Phonic.Lab was released on Beatport, Traxsource and all other stores you can imagine. It’s released on the Swedish label OH! Records and also includes a great remix by our good friend Niklas Paus! For this remix we wanted to do something different from what we’ve done before. So we put on our shiniest disco shoes and jumped onto the intergalactic JANI/DANIEL Express and came up with a sound that fits the upcoming winter time. :)

Anyway, we thought it might be interesting to write a bit about how we made the remix (if not, then just scroll down and download it. Or don’t. Either way you loose no money in this deal!). When we made this remix for Sacpek we got pretty carried away with the sounds, mostly because of the Deep Freq FX pack we had bought recently for Kore Player (seems the product is discontinued now, HA!). We time-streched, pitched and FX’ed it off this world in the remix. The result is still a pretty heavy but bouncing and atmospheric remix. You can still hear the resemblance to the original but the remix has a totally different feel to it… audio snippets below for comparison.

This is what we most often do when we get a remix job. We fuck up the original audio (not because it’s ‘bad’ necessarily, but for the fun of it!) and try to make something different with the beats and mood. If the original feels happy, we want to make a darker remix. If it’s hard, we want to make it soft. In other words, copy pasting the original audio onto a standard drumloop from the latest sample cd isn’t really what we consider remixing.

Yesterday we where in the studio and started work on another remix for Kitschy Records. The track is called ‘Journey’ by Jesus Pablo and Milkwish. Our remix will take the funkiest parts of the original and bring them down deep. Check out the video below for a small preview!
